Educate

educate versus knowing intrinsically versus knowledge from just living life versus wisdom. different, the same? i love that saying the more i know the less i understand because it’s so true, the more i think i know the more i realize i don’t know anything at all hardly. and what i think i know evolves constantly until it looks like something entirely new that i no longer even recognize. so i gotta learn it again.

for example, one of my favorite things to learn about is personalities and how they’re constantly changing, very minutely over a person’s lifetime. things that might seem minor over time have exponential effects on who a person is, like how what we choose to pursue, to be involved with, to learn from and let influence us then becomes something that also evolves us. so that the choices we make further down the road are because of the ones we’ve made previously. and some choices are no longer available once you start down a certain path because being on that path has, in some ways, eliminated other possible choices you might have made. i heard that idea [from a speaker called ty gibson? i believe] and thought it was really interesting if you keep breaking that idea down to consider it.

i love knowing that it’s really impossible for me to learn everything, life is so much more exciting that way to know that i can keep learning for as long as i want to because there’s no way i could ever learn it all! and right now, i’m really interested in choosing another language to learn but i’m having a hard time narrowing it down to focus on it. i think that’s a pretty common pattern for me, i start a lot of projects and then have a hard time focusing on the actual process of what it means to go through and complete the task to the finish. 😛 it’s a learning process…
